FG Advances Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Port Project

The Federal Government of Nigeria is making strides in advancing the Ijebu-Ode Inland Dry Port Project by convening a high-level stakeholder meeting to validate a consultative report. The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, emphasized the strategic importance of the maritime sector to Nigeria's economy and international trade.

The event took place at the Green Legacy Resort in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where Oyetola acknowledged the need for sustainable reforms based on evidence to inform the ministry's decisions. The consultation process aims to identify potential risks and ensure that recommended actions align with existing legal and policy frameworks.

Ogun State's pivotal role in Nigeria's logistics corridor was highlighted, with Oyetola expressing appreciation for the state's cooperation in handing over project land to the federal government. The consultation services are scheduled for completion within a twelve-month timeline, reinforcing the federal government's commitment to fostering collaboration and transparency in the maritime industry.
