Oyo State Advances Moniya Inland Dry Port Project

Oyo State has reaffirmed its commitment to the successful realization of the Moniya Inland Dry Port project, which was discussed during a high-level review meeting aimed at implementing the project's strategies. The meeting, held in Ibadan, included key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, as well as federal regulatory agencies.

Prof. Musibau Babatund, representing Governor Seyi Makinde, emphasized the project as a strategic infrastructure initiative that will drive economic transformation in the region.

The project is expected to create jobs, decongest seaports, and position Oyo State as a major logistics hub. The inland dry port will facilitate trade by improving cargo clearance and distribution, thereby boosting economic activity and supporting small and medium enterprises.

The Nigerian Shipper Council and Nigerian Port Authority are already collaborating with the state government to ensure smooth implementation. The project is seen as a significant step towards enhancing trade efficiency and unlocking the region's economic potential.
