FG Targets $1 Trillion Economy with MTNDP 2026-2030

The Federal Government of Nigeria is progressing with plans to finalize the Medium Term National Development Plan (MTNDP) for 2026–2030, with a target of achieving a $1 trillion economy by the year 2030. Dr.

Dori Uzoka Anit, the Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, reaffirmed the government's commitment to developing this plan during the opening remarks of a three-day workshop held in Keffi, Nasarawa State. The workshop involved various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) and aimed to review sector contributions and update relevant data to ensure alignment with national priorities.

Dr. Uzoka Anit emphasized the need for a results-driven approach to set realistic targets for policies, programs, and projects.

Dr. Deborah Odoh, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, described the workshop as part of ongoing efforts to enhance institutional capacity and coordination among government agencies.

The MTNDP 2026–2030 is the second series of six medium-term plans designed to implement Nigeria's Agenda 2050, which outlines strategies for achieving double-digit GDP growth and significantly expanding the nation's economic base.
