FG Approves N4bn Grants for New Educational Institutions

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved a total of N4 billion in take-off grants, allocating N2 billion each to the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic in Abuja and the Federal University of Science and Technology in Epe, Lagos State. This decision was disclosed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, during the inauguration of key officials appointed to lead the two institutions.

Prof. Nosiru Onibon has been appointed as the pioneer rector of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal Polytechnic, while Prof. Adeola Oshikoya has been designated as the vice chancellor of the Federal University of Science and Technology Epe. Dr. Angela Ajala has assumed office as the executive secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education.

The grants are intended to assist the institutions in establishing basic administrative and academic structures to commence operations. The Minister emphasized the importance of providing strong leadership to shape the long-term development of these institutions, which are strategically located to harness human resources in their regions.
