FG Supports 12,000 Youth Entrepreneurs with N13M Grant

The Federal Government of Nigeria is backing 12,000 youth entrepreneurs by providing a N13 million grant to support 80 youth entrepreneurs over two years. This initiative was highlighted by Hajia Hauwa Liman, the Vice President of Women and Youth Engagement, during the 7th Youth Opportunities Summit held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The summit, themed "Leverage Opportunities to Build Future Ready Youth," aims to mobilize 255 young volunteers and serve as a launch pad for youth to access local and global opportunities. The summit is set to continue at Bayero University Kano in May 2024, marking Uyo as the seventh city to host this initiative.

Dr. Ekeret Ekanem, the Commissioner for Youth Development in Akwa Ibom State, urged youths to utilize these opportunities for self-improvement.

Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Comfort Ekpo, encouraged youth to seize these opportunities to enhance their lives, while Prof.

Akpan Hogan Ekpo emphasized the role of youth as strategic partners in achieving sustainable growth and development.
