FG Supports Mining Marshals Against Illegal Miners

The Federal Government of Nigeria has expressed strong support for the Mining Marshals in their ongoing battle against illegal mining activities across the country. During the inauguration of eight newly acquired gun trucks at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) headquarters in Abuja, Dr.

Dele Alak, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, commended the Marshals for their commitment and sacrifices. He described their intervention as a critical component of the government's efforts to sanitize the solid minerals sector and maximize its contribution to national economic growth.

Alak warned individuals and groups attempting to undermine the Marshals' operations to desist, stating they would face the full weight of the law. He highlighted the significant successes of the Marshals in curbing illegal mining operations and protecting the nation's mineral resources.

Alak reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu's commitment to repositioning the solid minerals sector as a major pillar of economic diversification, emphasizing the government's determination to eliminate illegal mining and ensure that the nation's mineral wealth benefits Nigerians.
