FG Launches Gun Trucks to Combat Illegal Mining in Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to ending illegal mining as part of a broader effort to unlock the economic potential of Nigeria's solid mineral sector. This initiative was highlighted during the inauguration of operational gun trucks for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Abuja.

The deployment of these vehicles is expected to strengthen surveillance and enforcement capabilities, enabling rapid response to illegal mining activities across the country. Government officials emphasized that curbing illegal mining is essential to attract investment, increase revenue generation, protect mineral resources, and create sustainable economic opportunities within the sector.
