FG Launches Final Verification for Severance Benefits

The Federal Government of Nigeria has commenced a final verification exercise aimed at addressing unpaid severance benefits for staff disengaged from various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) between 2005 and 2011. This exercise is coordinated by the Bureau of Public Service Reform (BPSR) in collaboration with the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF).

The verification will cover both the deceased beneficiaries' next of kin and individuals involved in court cases regarding non-payment. The verification process will take place across six zonal centers from July 20 to August 28, 2026.

Specific locations include the Federal Pay Office in Lagos from July 20-24, Asaba from July 27-31, Enugu from August 3-7, Gombe from August 10-14, Kano from August 17-21, and Lafia from August 24-28. Beneficiaries are required to appear in person with original and photocopies of necessary documents, including valid bank account details and identification.
