Nigeria Partners with Caring Cross to Boost Healthcare Security

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through Dr. Iziak Adekunle Salako, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, is collaborating with Caring Cross, a U.S.-based NGO, and international partners to strengthen medicine security and healthcare access in Nigeria.

During a meeting in Abuja, Dr. Salako emphasized the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to enhance scientific capacity and leverage new technologies to improve treatment outcomes.

The collaboration aims to catalyze health security and economic growth by promoting evidence-based policies and practices. Dr.

Obi Adigw, the Director General of NIPRD, highlighted the importance of leveraging cutting-edge science, such as CAR T-cell therapy, to improve access to care. The initiative also includes the establishment of a National Phytomedicine Development Committee to utilize local biodiversity for developing world-class products.

The meeting underscored the need for Nigeria to prioritize healthcare access and innovation to address unique health challenges.
