FG Enhances Business Environment in Plateau State

The Federal Government, represented by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), is dedicated to enhancing the business landscape in Plateau State. During a town hall meeting, Princess Zahra Mustapha Audu, the Director General of PEBEC, discussed the need to remove bottlenecks affecting businesses and engage with subnational governments.

The meeting featured a technical session aimed at understanding the unique business environment in Plateau State, fostering closer collaboration between state officials and business owners. Audu noted that feedback from the private sector is crucial for guiding policy reviews, as each state has different challenges.

She highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's tax reforms, which exempt small businesses earning less than 3 million Naira from taxation, aiming to alleviate the tax burden and combat poverty. Joyc Ramnap, representing the Plateau State government, welcomed the federal team and acknowledged the state's improvement in the ease of doing business ranking, now positioned sixth nationally, with a focus on agriculture, tourism, and mining as economic drivers.
