PEBEC Urges Borno to Enhance Business Reforms for Growth

The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), represented by Director General Zahrah Audu, called on Borno State to intensify reforms aimed at creating a business-friendly environment during a town hall meeting in Maiduguri. The meeting, part of a nationwide engagement on subnational business reforms, focused on addressing challenges faced by entrepreneurs and attracting investment.

Audu highlighted the need for the state government to implement reforms that promote investment, reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks, and create conducive conditions for enterprise growth. She noted that PEBEC has developed several recommendations to help improve the business environment and emphasized the importance of harmonizing fees at state and local government levels.

Kori Sa'id, Chairman of the Borno State Investment Promotion Agency, commended PEBEC's efforts and acknowledged the significant progress made under Governor Babagana Umara Zulum's leadership. The collaboration with the World Bank aims to operationalize a business enabling reform action plan to simplify processes and enhance the overall competitiveness of the state.
