FG Enhances Teacher Professionalism and Digital Learning

The Federal Government of Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing teacher professionalism, institutional capacity, and digital transformation as essential components for improving learning outcomes and sustainable education reforms. During the 2026 Three-Day Retreat of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) held in Abuja, the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, emphasized that quality teachers and robust institutions are foundational to national development.

She highlighted the Renewed Hope Agenda and the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI) as initiatives aimed at improving foundational learning, strengthening teacher quality, enhancing governance, and accelerating digital transformation in the education sector. Professor Ahmad urged TRCN to promote professional standards and continuous teacher development while leveraging technology for better communication and service delivery.

She also called for stronger collaboration among the Federal Ministry of Education, TRCN, the Nigeria Union of Teachers, and other stakeholders to equip teachers with necessary digital competencies for 21st-century education.
