FG Disburses N32.9bn to States for Healthcare Expansion Nationwide

The Federal Government of Nigeria has disbursed N32.9 billion to all 36 states for the expansion of healthcare services. The funds are part of the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF) aimed at enhancing the quality of healthcare delivery in Nigeria.

Minister Muhammad Ali Pate announced the disbursement during a meeting in Abuja, highlighting the progress in healthcare delivery, including increased health insurance coverage and access to maternal services. The government is also conducting a health survey to monitor progress in maternal and child health outcomes.

The initiative has shown a 12% reduction in maternal mortality, indicating positive results from ongoing healthcare reforms.
