FG Partners with Banks for Digital Revenue Transparency

The Federal Government of Nigeria is engaging with banks to implement a digital revenue platform designed to improve transparency and efficiency in revenue collection. This initiative, referred to as Revop, aims to centralize revenue collection across government agencies, enabling real-time monitoring and reporting.

Taiwo Oyedele, the Minister of Finance, coordinated the sensitization workshop held in Abuja, where he emphasized the importance of the platform in replacing outdated manual processes that have hindered effective revenue administration. Despite progress, challenges remain, particularly among bank personnel who must adapt to the new system.

Oyedele stressed that the success of the platform relies on collaboration between government institutions and financial service providers. The initiative is expected to streamline revenue collection, eliminate operational silos, and ensure that all government revenue is accurately accounted for.

Oluwatoyin Madein, the Accountant General of the Federation, noted that 70% of federal government entities have already integrated into the platform, which aims to enhance compliance and reduce leakages.
