FG In Talks With Saudi Arabia, UK, US, Others On Jobs For Nigerians – Minister

The Federal Government of Nigeria is engaged in discussions with Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, and other countries to create job opportunities for Nigerians. Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, revealed that this initiative is part of the government's plan to address unemployment through skill development and vocational training.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with one country, while talks with others are at an advanced stage. The minister emphasized the government's commitment to creating a secure, fair, and competitive work environment by leveraging domestic reforms and international partnerships.

Dingyadi highlighted the importance of equipping Nigerians with modern skills such as ICT, Artificial Intelligence, and green energy to compete in the global digital economy. The ministry has also achieved a stable workforce and increased momentum in skill acquisition programs.

The newly approved National Industrial Relations Policy aims to prevent prolonged work stoppages by emphasizing dialogue as the first line of action in resolving disputes.
