Katsina State Enhances Emergency Healthcare with New Ambulances

The Federal Government and Katsina State Government launched 15 Advanced Life Support Ambulances, 238 tricycle ambulances, and commissioned the General Hospital in Charanchi to improve emergency healthcare access, especially for rural communities. The event took place on Tuesday in Charanchi, led by Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, and Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda.

The Federal Government also donated three additional ambulances, raising the total to eighteen. Prof. Pate emphasized the importance of the State Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (SEMSAS) in providing reliable emergency assistance.

Governor Radda described the ambulance system as a significant milestone for timely emergency healthcare access, noting that the Advanced Life Support Ambulances would offer specialized care during transport. The General Hospital, Charanchi, upgraded at a cost of N2.059 billion, will provide essential medical services.

Radda also mentioned the renovation of over 280 healthcare centers and the recruitment of 804 healthcare personnel in the past three years.
