Nigeria Deploys 13 Ambulances to Ogun State Facilities

The Nigerian Government has deployed 13 ambulances to health facilities in Ogun State, comprising three Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, one Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance, and nine tricycle ambulances. This initiative was announced by Dr. Iziaq Salako, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, during a flag-off event in Abeokuta.

The ambulances are intended for federal and state tertiary institutions, as well as selected high-volume and remote secondary and primary healthcare facilities. This deployment is part of a broader national acquisition of 145 tricycle ambulances, six boats, 15 BLS, and 79 ALS ambulances, aimed at strengthening emergency medical services across Nigeria.

The initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on improving emergency transport infrastructure and communication systems. Dr. Salako emphasized the importance of timely emergency care in preventing avoidable deaths and urged beneficiary institutions to maintain the ambulances and use them exclusively for medical emergencies.
