FG Launches Entrepreneurship Certification in 14 Universities

On Friday, the Federal Government of Nigeria launched the Entrepreneurship Certification programme, known as EIBIC, at the TETFund auditorium in Abuja, targeting 14 universities in its first phase. The initiative, introduced by Minister of Education Dr.

Maruf Olatunji, aims to enhance entrepreneurship education across various disciplines, including engineering, medicine, law, science, and creative arts. It seeks to enable Nigerian students to convert their knowledge, talent, and passion into viable enterprises, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision for a resilient, knowledge-driven, innovation-led economy.

The programme requires a whole society approach for effective integration into university curricula. The event highlighted the collaboration with stakeholders, including the Sahara Group, and announced the awarding of 12,000 grants to support youth entrepreneurship and digital skills development.

The initiative has already trained 20,000 youth and aims to strengthen Nigeria's innovation-driven economy.
