FG Partners with UbuntuCare to Enhance Healthcare Access

The Federal Government of Nigeria is initiating a collaboration with UbuntuCare Africa to improve healthcare delivery across the 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the country. This partnership aims to enhance primary healthcare and advance Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by providing access to healthcare information, consultations, referrals, and follow-up services.

UbuntuCare Africa, which recently launched in Nigeria, employs a model that integrates digital technology with a community-based healthcare network to overcome barriers such as distance, affordability, and inadequate infrastructure. The platform offers toll-free healthcare support, nurse-led triage, doctor-led teleconsultations, and access to essential medicines.

It connects users with pre-screened healthcare providers, facilitating a seamless transition from digital guidance to physical treatment. A notable feature is its 24-hour toll-free multilingual health support service, particularly beneficial for rural residents and vulnerable groups.

Co-Founder and CEO Chukwunonimem Michael Ike stated that the platform aims to bridge gaps in healthcare access through technology and community partnerships.
