Nigerian Government Charges NSITF and NECA to Enforce Workplace Safety Laws

The Nigerian government is intensifying efforts to enforce workplace safety regulations by directing the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and the Nigerian Employers' Consultative Association (NECA) to sanction organizations in the public and private sectors violating the Employee Compensation Act (ECA) of 2010. Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, emphasized the need for strict enforcement to ensure compliance and protect workers from occupational risks.

The government aims to strengthen occupational safety and health measures through collaboration with stakeholders and promoting a culture of workplace safety.
