NECA Urges Employers to Prioritize Workplace Safety in Nigeria

The Nigerian Employers' Consultative Association (NECA) and the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) are collaborating to enhance workplace safety standards in Nigeria. They are conducting audits of corporate safety policies and infrastructure across the country, aiming for compliance with international safety best practices by 2025.

At a press conference in Abuja, NECA stressed the critical nature of workplace safety, highlighting the risks faced by Nigerian workers due to poor safety awareness and culture. Adewale Smatt Oyerinde, NECA's Director-General, emphasized the significance of occupational health and safety, citing international labor conventions on the subject.
