FG Opens N1bn MSME Grant Applications April 7, 2026

The Federal Government of Nigeria announced the opening of applications for a N1 billion grant to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from April 7 to May 7, 2026. Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs, disclosed this during a media briefing in Abuja.

The initiative aims to provide direct financial support to MSMEs, marking a shift from previous awards that focused on major categories. The new approach is designed to address immediate business needs and ensure wider distribution of financial rewards across various categories.

Beneficiaries will receive mentorship programs coordinated by relevant government agencies, which will also provide post-award support, including business advisory services and market access opportunities. The awards will culminate in a grand final event on June 27, coinciding with the United Nations World MSME Day.

Sarah Ajayi from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control emphasized the importance of quality applications and regulatory compliance.
