Nigerian Government Mobilizes $1bn for CNG Adoption Boost

The Nigerian government, through the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, launched the Nigerian Gas Vehicle Monitor System (NGVM) to promote the safe adoption of compressed natural gas (CNG) in vehicles. At least $1 billion in private sector investment has been mobilized to boost the entire CNG value chain, with the pilot launch taking place at an NNPC retail station in Abuja.

The initiative, supported by key figures like Bola Tinubu and Ismaeel Ahmed of PICNG, aims to make CNG an affordable and sustainable energy choice for Nigerians, reducing transport costs and promoting environmental sustainability.
