FG Partners with China Hywai for 10,000 Housing Units

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, is prepared to collaborate with credible investors to tackle the nation's housing deficit.

During a meeting with a delegation from China Hywai Group Limited, led by Chief Engineer Lewi Chima, a proposal was presented to develop 10,000 resettlement housing units in Nigeria. The proposal aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes expanding access to decent and affordable housing.

The Minister emphasized the government's commitment to creating an enabling environment for genuine investors, including providing suitable land across various states and local government areas. The project aims to utilize advanced prefabricated construction technology to deliver the housing units within 30 months, significantly reducing construction costs and improving quality.

The initiative is expected to contribute to closing Nigeria's estimated 17 million housing unit deficit and support sustainable urban development.
