FG Reaffirms Commitment to Youth Empowerment and Safety

The Federal Government of Nigeria, represented by Comrade Ayodel Olawand, the Minister of Youth Development, reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment, digital inclusion, and online safety during the Meta Youth Online Safety Summit held in Abuja on Friday. The Minister emphasized that empowering Nigerian youth is a top priority for the government, which aims to unlock the vast potential of the youth population through sustainable programs.

The government plans to invest in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and digital innovation to foster economic growth. Olawand commended Meta for its partnership in advancing youth-focused digital initiatives across the country.

He acknowledged the transformative role of digital platforms in providing opportunities for young people to acquire knowledge and build businesses. The Minister also stressed the importance of online safety, urging parents to guide their children in navigating the digital space.

Additionally, the government collaborates with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to enhance digital skills and promote entrepreneurship among youth.
