FG Commits to Dignified Retirement for Senior Citizens

On Wednesday, during a national thanksgiving conference organized by the Nigeria Union of Pension Contributors Pension Scheme (NUPCP) in Abuja, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, the Director General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), reiterated the Federal Government's commitment to enhancing the welfare of senior citizens.

She emphasized the importance of ensuring that retirees live with dignity and peace of mind. Oloworaran highlighted ongoing reforms aimed at addressing the challenges faced by retirees, particularly those who have served the nation diligently yet experience hardship in retirement.

She assured that the government is focused on delivering impactful policies for citizens, especially the elderly, who deserve comfort and stability in retirement. Oloworaran also mentioned that pension liabilities are being cleared, with retirees receiving payments promptly, often within a week or even within 24 hours in some cases.
