FG Reaffirms Commitment to Combat GBV in Ogun State - Women's Safety a Priority

Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaam, reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to combating Gender-Based Violence (GBV) during a visit to Ogun State. She highlighted the prevalence of violence against women in Nigeria, with 31% experiencing physical violence and 28% facing sexual violence.

The Minister emphasized the urgent need to address these issues to ensure family stability and development. Imaam stressed the government's dedication to social impact programs aimed at empowering women and vulnerable individuals.

The visit included a stop at a sexual assault referral center in Abeokuta, underscoring the importance of tackling GBV nationwide.
