FG Gets New Advice On Fight Against GBV: "You Must Prioritise Funding"

The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development has advised the Nigerian government to prioritize funding in the fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV). During a press conference, the organization unveiled the Male Feminist Network (MFN) project, aiming to train and mobilize male leaders to advocate for gender equality and prevent violence.

Dr. Otive Igbuzor, the Executive Director of the Centre, emphasized the need to address the marginalization of women and the entrenched patriarchal norms that perpetuate injustice.

He urged the government to institutionalize male engagement in GBV prevention and gender equality work by allocating funds and implementing policy reforms. The Chairperson of the Centre's board, Kyauta Agmadalo Giwa, highlighted the launch of MFN as a collective commitment to building a more equitable society.
