Nigerian Government Digitizes 31 Ministries Ahead of Paperless Deadline

The Nigerian government has declared that 31 ministries and extra ministerial departments have successfully transitioned to a fully digital and paperless civil service. This move is part of the government's aim to achieve a fully digitized civil service by December 31, 2025.

Didi Esther Walson Jack, the Head of the Federal Civil Service, made the announcement during a paperless civil service gala in Abuja. The initiative is part of the Federal Civil Service Strategy Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021-2025, aiming to digitize work processes across government agencies using the 1Gov Cloud and 1Gov framework.

Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, the Managing Director and CEO of Galaxy Backbone Limited, described the initiative as a landmark in Nigeria's digital transformation journey, emphasizing efficiency, transparency, and service excellence.
