Nigeria Enhances Collaboration with UNDP for Development

The Federal Government of Nigeria is pursuing closer development collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to leverage its expertise in accelerating the country's reform agenda. This initiative was highlighted by Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, during a courtesy visit from the UNDP's resident representative, Elsi Attafuah, at the State House in Abuja.

Gbajabiamila expressed gratitude for the UNDP's support of President Tinubu's reform programs, particularly in areas such as industrialization and local content in the oil industry. He urged the UNDP to assist in enhancing female political participation and addressing poverty, education, agriculture, and the mining sector.

Attafuah acknowledged the strong relationship between the UNDP and Nigeria over the past two years and praised Tinubu's leadership. She also discussed the UNDP's shift towards a project-based approach and the importance of prudent resource utilization in national development initiatives.
