FMHUD to Launch 5,000 Housing Applications in Lagos

The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (FMHUD) is preparing to open applications for 5,000 housing units under the Harmony Renewed Hope Housing initiative in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos state. This initiative is a collaboration with Harmony Gardens and Estate Development Limited, following a successful groundbreaking ceremony on October 30, 2026.
The project aims to provide affordable housing options for Nigerians at home and in the diaspora through structured mortgage financing. Interested applicants can seek guidance from the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria or directly from Harmony Gardens.
The housing units will be developed across Lekki Aviation Town, The Parliament, and GranVille Estate within 36 months. Engr. Dr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, noted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's concern regarding Nigeria's 15 million housing deficit.
The government is also considering a nationwide social housing initiative to further address housing needs across local government areas.
