FG Summons Ibom Air Crew, Passenger Comfort Emmanson Over Mid-Flight Drama

The Federal Government of Nigeria's Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has summoned Ibom Air cabin crew member Juliana Edward and passenger Comfort Emmanson for an investigation into a mid-flight drama. The incident occurred last week, prompting the NCAA to take action.

The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, confirmed the summoning of the individuals during an Emergency National Civil Aviation Security Committee Stakeholders Meeting in Abuja. Contrary to earlier reports, the pilot did not call security operatives upon landing in Lagos, as the situation was resolved upon arrival.

The NCAA emphasized the importance of establishing the facts surrounding the incident and reiterated safety measures, including the directive for mobile phones to be switched off completely during landing. Senator Buhari Abdulfatai linked the incident to a decline in discipline among airport staff and passengers.
