Ibom Air: NCAA Seeks Eyewitness Account, Releases Contact as Airline Reacts to Viral Video

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has called for an eyewitness account from a passenger aboard Ibom Air flight IAN513, following a viral video showing a female passenger exposing herself and being dragged off the plane. The NCAA's Director of Consumer Affairs, Michael Achimugu, urged the witness to come forward to verify the incident and ensure accountability.

Ibom Air, however, denied releasing the video and emphasized safety as their top priority in aviation. The airline's Group Manager of Marketing Communications, Aniekan Essienette, distanced the company from the footage that caused outrage on social media.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) also issued a warning to passengers about unruly behavior at Nigerian airports, emphasizing legal consequences for such actions. FAAN is reviewing protocols to restrain and prosecute passengers in line with the Airport Approved Security Programme and relevant laws.
