Nigerian Government Targets 1,000 Jobs per 100 Housing Units to Boost Economic Growth

Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, revealed plans by the Nigerian government to create 1,000 jobs from every 100 housing units. This announcement was made during the 24th Annual Conference of the African Real Estate Society (AfRES) in Lagos.

The initiative aims to boost economic growth by leveraging the housing sector, which currently contributes nine percent to the country's GDP and employs millions of people. The government's Renewed Hope Cities Estates Programme and other initiatives are designed to provide affordable housing units and stimulate inclusive development.

Additionally, reforms in land administration, including the National Land Titling Registration Documentation Programme, are expected to unlock dead capital and improve investor confidence in the sector.
