Nigerian Government to Compel Officials to Fly Local Airlines Abroad

The Nigerian government, led by Festus Keyamo, is proposing the "Fly Nigerian Act" to mandate government officials to patronize Nigerian airlines for international flights. This move was announced during the ceremony marking Air Peace's inaugural direct flight from Abuja to London Heathrow Airport.

Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace, were present to support the bill. The aim is to promote local carriers, following global practices in countries like the US and India.

The government is committed to passing the legislation to strengthen the aviation industry and increase confidence in domestic airlines.
