FG Launches RH-CRRP 2030 to Boost Cooperatives in Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria launched the Renewed Hope Cooperative Reform and Revamp Programme (RH-CRRP 2030) in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, aiming to engage cooperative societies in two key initiatives: the proposed Cooperative Bank of Nigeria and the National Cooperative Sector Digitalization Drive. The Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security and Supervising Minister of Cooperative Affairs, Sen.

Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, emphasized the importance of cooperatives in fostering peace, unity, and economic opportunities during the Grand Finale of the 2026 United Nations International Day of Cooperatives Celebration.

He commended the Bayelsa State Government for its support of cooperative development and highlighted the historical significance of the South-South Zone in Nigeria’s cooperative movement. RH-CRRP 2030, approved by the National Council on Cooperative Affairs, aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on food security, financial inclusion, and employment generation.

The proposed Cooperative Bank will be cooperatively owned and controlled, providing affordable financial services to various sectors.
