FG unveils TRCN digital portal

The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) digital portal at a ceremony in Abuja. The Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Said Ahmad, called it a defining moment for the country's education sector and emphasized the importance of digitization for human capital development.

The portal aims to streamline the registration and licensing of teachers nationwide, creating a credible database of qualified professionals and providing access to professional development opportunities. Ian Attfield, a Senior Education Advisor from the British High Commission, praised TRCN's strategic vision and highlighted the need for a diverse teaching workforce.

The UK government, through its FCDO program, has supported TRCN in developing the portal and remains committed to helping Nigeria build a cohesive data system for education. TRCN Registrar Ronke and her team were commended for their resilience and commitment to excellence in this digital transformation journey, with the Ministry of Education pledging full support.
