Tinubu Vows to Combat Terrorism Ahead of 2027 Elections

During a church service held at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, stated that the Federal Government of Nigeria will not surrender to terrorists and bandits. The event marked the celebration of Nigeria's 27 years of uninterrupted democratic rule, which Tinubu described as a reflection of the resilience and sacrifices of citizens and pro-democracy activists.

He acknowledged the economic difficulties and security challenges facing the nation and assured that the government is aware of the pain experienced by citizens. Tinubu emphasized the need for intensified security efforts to safeguard lives and protect communities.

He called on Nigerians, particularly the youth, to reject violence and hate campaigns as the country approaches the 2027 general elections, urging them to honor the sacrifices of June 12 heroes by electing peaceful leaders who uphold dignity and security for all.
