FG Assures Nigerians: No Surrender to Terrorists

President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to combating terrorism and banditry, stating that it will not surrender to criminal intimidation. This declaration was made during a church service at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, which was part of activities marking the 2026 Democracy Day celebration.

Tinubu's message was delivered by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, who acknowledged the economic hardships and security challenges facing the nation. Akume highlighted the importance of resilience and sacrifice in the fight for democracy, paying tribute to those who struggled for democratic rule.

The President emphasized the need for security agencies to be equipped to protect citizens and maintain territorial integrity. He also called on Nigerians to reject violence and hate speech as the country approaches the 2027 general elections, urging religious leaders and civil society to promote peace and unity.
