FGN Power Company Partners with Ebonyi, Enugu for PPI

The Federal Government of Nigeria Power Company (FGNPC) has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborate with Ebonyi and Enugu states to accelerate the implementation of Phase 1 of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI). This initiative aims to transform Nigeria's energy landscape by addressing infrastructure gaps and delivering reliable energy solutions.

Mr. Babatunde Daramola Oniru, Chief Commercial Officer of FGNPC, met with state government officials, including Prof.

Grace Umezurik from Ebonyi and Prof. Chidieber Onyia from Enugu, to discuss the project's execution.

Key projects include the construction of the Ugwaji-Okposi 330kV double circuit transmission line in Ebonyi, which is expected to enhance grid reliability and boost power supply. Both states pledged full support for the initiative, recognizing its importance for economic development and urban renewal.

FGNPC aims to increase Nigeria's grid capacity by adding 4,000MW over the next three years, with partnerships involving Siemens Energy and other contractors.
