President, intervened by contacting FIFA President Gianni Infantino to request a review of Balogun's punishment. Additionally, U.S.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio publicly called for the red card to be rescinded. UEFA warned that such decisions could have significant ramifications for the sport and undermine trust in football governance.
