The governing body confirmed the development through a statement on its official X account, stating that it became aware of the incident at Miami Stadium and launched an investigation immediately.

FIFA emphasized its commitment to tackling racism and discrimination at World Cup venues, reiterating its zero-tolerance stance on such behavior. The incident reportedly involved Argentine supporters allegedly imitating a monkey while interacting with IShowSpeed during the match.

FIFA has not confirmed whether this incident is part of an ongoing investigation. IShowSpeed, who has 57 million subscribers on YouTube and millions of followers across social media platforms, is covering the 2026 FIFA World Cup as part of a special partnership involving FIFA and American broadcaster Fox Sports.
