FIFA Confirms US Visas for Iran's World Cup Team

FIFA has promised that Iran's men's football team will receive visas to participate in the upcoming World Cup in the United States, scheduled to begin on June 11. Ahmad Donyamali, Iran's Sports Minister, stated that FIFA President Gianni Infantino assured that there would be no issues with visa issuance for the players, despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The Iranian team will be based in Tijuana, Mexico, to circumvent U.S. visa restrictions. Donyamali emphasized that the World Cup host countries are obligated to provide visas for participating nations, including players and backroom staff.

The Iranian national team is expected to obtain multiple-entry visas issued by the United States. The team is currently preparing in Antalya, Turkey, and has submitted their visa applications at the U.S. embassy in Ankara.

Iran is drawn in Group G and will play its first match against New Zealand on June 15 in Los Angeles, followed by matches against Belgium and Egypt on June 21 and June 26, respectively.
