FIFA Delay Raises Concerns for Super Eagles Tournament

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that the Super Eagles will participate in a four-nation invitational tournament in Amman, Jordan, alongside teams from Iran and Costa Rica. This tournament is scheduled to take place during the next FIFA men's international match window, coinciding with intercontinental World Cup playoffs.

However, concerns have arisen due to FIFA's delay in announcing a verdict on the NFF's complaint regarding DR Congo's use of an ineligible player during the CAF World Cup playoff, in which the Super Eagles lost on penalties. Adebari, a sports analyst, expressed curiosity about the prolonged wait for FIFA's decision, noting that a panel reportedly met two weeks ago but has remained silent.

The outcome of FIFA's verdict is critical, as it will impact Nigeria's appeal and their ability to participate in the upcoming intercontinental World Cup playoff scheduled in Mexico.
