Fight against corruption ‘selective’ – Northerners react to Tambuwal’s arrest by EFCC

Former Sokoto State governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal's arrest by the EFCC has sparked reactions in Northern Nigeria, with some describing it as politically motivated. The EFCC detained Tambuwal for alleged fraudulent cash withdrawals amounting to billions.

Northern activist Mahdi Shehu accused the EFCC of political bias, citing cases where powerful individuals allegedly evaded investigation. Adnan Mukhtar Tudunwada and Rabiu Musa emphasized the importance of upholding the law and ensuring fairness in the fight against corruption, urging people to look beyond politics.

The arrest has raised concerns about the impartiality of the EFCC and the integrity of the anti-corruption campaign in Nigeria.
