Sokoto PDP Condemns Tambuwal’s Arrest As Political Assault

The Sokoto State chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemned the arrest of former Governor Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). In a statement by the party's Publicity Secretary, Hassan Sahabi Sanyinnawal, the arrest was described as a political assault on dissent in the country.

The PDP accused the government of using state institutions as tools to repress political opposition, particularly targeting Tambuwal. The party noted that the investigation was a mere fishing trip to tarnish Tambuwal's image and intimidate the opposition.

The PDP urged the EFCC to uphold its constitutional obligation and not be used as a tool for political agendas. Supporters were encouraged to remain steadfast in demanding genuine democracy and good governance in Sokoto State and Nigeria.
