EFCC detention of Tambuwal is political witch-hunt, says ADC youth leader

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Deputy National Youth Leader, Chinonso Obasi, has condemned the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the interrogation and detention of former Sokoto governor Aminu Tambuwal, labeling it as a political witch-hunt to silence opposition voices. Obasi accused the administration of President Bola Tinubu of using the EFCC to target opposition figures, particularly those associated with the ADC.

He criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for its governance and called for the release of Tambuwal, whom he described as a significant threat to the party. Obasi urged Nigerians to resist the alleged capture of state institutions for partisan interests and demanded transparency in EFCC investigations, warning that anyone who challenges the ruling party risks being silenced.
