Nigerian Filling Stations Align CNG Prices with Petrol Amid Government Push

Filling stations in Nigeria have adjusted their pump prices for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) closer to petrol costs, with prices ranging from N230 to N380 per standard cubic meter (SCM). This move follows the government's push to promote CNG as a cheaper alternative to petrol.

While some stations increased prices, others remained unchanged, awaiting the government's retail price fix at N380 per SCM. The sudden price hike is attributed to supply contract changes and the end of CNG subsidies.

The shift aims to make CNG more accessible to consumers, potentially impacting the fuel market dynamics in Lagos and Abuja.
