Nigeria Hosts CAF A Coaching Course After Nine Years

Nigeria is hosting the CAF A Coaching Course in Abuja for the first time in over nine years, marking a significant boost in the country's coaching education. The course is coordinated by Dr. Terry Eguaoje, who is the Head of Education at the Nigeria Football Federation and the Founder/President of the Football Coaches Association of Africa Nations.

Nigeria's absence from the CAF A course calendar for nearly a decade hindered the career progression of many elite coaches. Dr. Eguaoje, an American-based coach with two Doctorate degrees in soccer, developed a new curriculum tailored for Nigeria and led efforts for the country's re-admission into the CAF Coaching Convention.

Notable coaches participating include former Super Eagles Head Coach Finidi George, Rangers International Technical Adviser Fidelis Ilechukwu, and others. The course aims to provide CAF-qualified coaches for continental engagements and improve coaching standards across Nigerian football.

Plans are underway to regularize CAF B, A, and Pro License courses in Nigeria.
