Finidi George Optimistic About NPFL Title Despite Setback

Finidi George, the current coach of Rivers United, has reaffirmed his club's ambition to win the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title this season, despite a recent setback. Rivers United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bayelsa United in Yenagoa, which resulted in them surrendering the top spot to Rangers International, who have played three fewer matches.

Following this defeat, Rivers United dropped to second place with 46 points. Finidi expressed disappointment over the result but dismissed concerns about it derailing their title ambitions, stating that the loss would ultimately help the team improve.

He emphasized the importance of preparing to bring in new players to strengthen the squad, as the team has struggled in the CAF Champions League group stage. Finidi, in his second season as coach, aims to consolidate the team's position and learn from past experiences to enhance their performance in the league.
